Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: I'm having tryouts this spring and the team players may change quite a bit. What roster do I use to apply to the San Francisco Cup?
A: Complete the tournament application form with your current team information. If accepted to play, your team can use new registration material (roster, member passes) for the tournament.

Q: I had a U12 team last fall. In which tournament division should we play at the San Francisco Cup?
A: If your team was U12 in the fall, it is still considered U12 at the time of the tournament. You can play in the U12 tournament bracket with your fall U12 credentials. You can also play in the U12 tournament bracket using new registration material (for the next seasonal year) indicating your team is U13. You may also request to play up in the U13 division if you so desire.

Q: How many guest players can I bring to the San Francisco Cup?
A: The tournament allows you to bring up to 7 guest players on your team which is the max allowed by CYSAN rules:

  • For CYSAN teams, you should be aware of the required paperwork to bring guest players. (Click to download the CYSAN Guest Player Policy. Requires Adobe Reader.) Forms are available from your league or district.
  • For out-of state teams, you are allowed up to 7 guest players and they must be documented on your travel papers according to the rules of your state association.

Q: Can I use US Club Soccer registration material to play in the San Francisco Cup?
A: The San Franciso Cup is a restricted tournament and US Club Soccer credentials cannot be used by teams playing in the San Francisco Cup.
